Calling all backyard birdwatchers!
Is it just me, or do birds carve out some interesting shapes on the seed blocks we put out for them?
Here is a photo from my old backyard when we lived in Mesa, AZ. (Don't you just love the view of Red Mountain in the background?) I wish I had the photo a couple days later when they excavated a whole smack dab through the middle of the seed block. You can see the sparrows and finches getting a pretty good start on their tunnel.
If you have some interesting seed block art made by the birds in your backyard, please submit photos of them to me. I'll post them to this site as I receive them. At the end of the year I will give a prize worth at least $15 to the coolest or funniest seed block shape.
My grandkids were just saying that my seed block looks like it has a face on it. Maybe after my computer problems are solved I can send a photo.
